It was four years ago that Hoop Mountain introduced a novel idea...the Academic All-American Camp. The camp was designed for players with at least a 3.2 grade point average and a score of 1150 on the SAT. Two New England products were named to the all-star game at the Reebok All-American Camp, which wrapped up Friday night in Philadelphia. Future Worcester Academy forward Tyler Olander and Hotchkiss guard Derrick Wilson were both selected to participate in the all-star game at the Reebok All-American Camp. The New England Playaz, Mass Rivals, Expressions Elite, and Connecticut Basketball Club represented New England in the seventeen-and-under bracket where they were joined by Grassroots Canada, New Heights, Team Philly, and the Florida Rams. Ultimately, we wound up with two local match-ups as the Playaz and CBC met up in the semi-finals and Expressions and Rivals met in a consolation game.
