Back on the Board

The text message said it all.

"Decommitted I'm open recruited."

It was Friday night when that message first came in and not until later during the day on Saturday when we finally got a chance to catch up with Danny Lawhorn

"They just weren't showing me the same love," said Lawhorn when asked why he had chosen to open his recruitment back up.  "I wasn't sure if I would be a good fit with their style of play anymore."

So with that Lawhorn is back on the board and looking for a new home.

The super quick point guard will be splitting time this summer as he will continue to suit up with the New York Panthers, but also plans to spend time with A.J. Price Elite out of New York.

He said he's planning on playing in West Virginia and Orlando, for both the Super Showcase and AAU Nationals, over the course of the rest of the month.

Lawhorn will then head to South Kent in the fall, after spending the first three years of his high school career at Hartford Public High School.

Lawhorn previously committed to Boston College last December, just prior to the beginning of the high school season.  He first was attracted to BC, and seemingly them to him, via Tyson Wheeler, a Connecticut native who formerly starred for current BC head coach Al Skinner at the University of Rhode Island.  Wheeler and Lawhorn played together at last year's Hartford ProAm.
