New England to March Madness

March Madness is underway, here are some names you may remember from their time spent playing in New England!

Danny Wolf (Northfield Mount Hermon) the 7’0 do-it-all power forward has been absolutely amazing for Michigan this season. Transferring from Yale it took him no time to adjust to the High-Major ranks. He even capped his season off with an All-Big Ten Second Team nod.

Hassan Diarra (Putnam Science) the 6’2 point guard has been a lynchpin for a tough UCONN squad this year. He is clearly relied upon by Coach Hurley and has been the Huskies’ floor general all season. Diarra is one of the best table setters on east coast and could hopefully lead Connecticut in March

Alex Karaban (New Hampton/Algonquin) is another New England prep alum and Big East stud. The 6’8 forward has been shooting the lights out his entire year. Now Karaban hopes to lead UCONN with Diarra to some March success.

Kadary Richmond (Brewster Academy), the 6’5 shooting guard, has been a Big East staple at this point. Richmond was able to put together a career of 5 seasons with a great senior season. He will definitely be remembered by the Big East community as a tough, fun to watch guard.

Javohn Garcia (Brewster Academy) has been key for a Cinderella hopeful in the March tourney, McNeese State. The 6’2 point guard Garcia has probably been the Cowboys most consistent player this season. Garcia went on to win Southland Player of the Year as well.

Chase Ross (Cushing Academy) has been one of the toughest players in the Big East. His play next to college star Kam Jones has been a big reason why they were a top 30-esque team this year. Ross’ play as 6’5 strong guard should even propel him into high-level pro conversations.

Chris Manon (St. Thomas More) is an underrated part of this surprisingly competent Vanderbilt squad. The 6’6 wing has been a key piece in seeing the Commodores reach the tourney this year with some impressive wins along the way. Manon’s play finishing and great defense did not go unnoticed.

Juju Murray (Putnam Science) was a HS icon and did nothing but produce in his college career. Murray went from the MAAC to the SEC and didn’t miss a beat. 6’0 point guard Murray is still a great shooter and playmaker on a strong tournament team this year for Ole Miss.

Brycen Goodine (St. Andrew's) is another SEC contributor from the New England HS ranks. Goodine, a 6’4 combo guard, was a legitimate guard in the MAC before finishing out his career for the Sooners. Brycen has been an important perimeter piece and probably the best shooter on the team.
