The 15 and under national championships of AAU basketball took place in Cincinnati, Ohio from July 11th – 16th. New England was represented with four teams as the Connecticut Basketball Club, Exclusive Playahs, MB Nation, and Team Magic all made the trip. Connecticut Basketball Academy went 2-0 on the day defeating Lone Wolf and the Philadelphia Patriots. Laquan Mendenhall, and Brandon Sherod paced the team throughout the action. Sherod was at his best against the Patriots, when he dominated the paint for 20 points. Mendenhall had 13 in reduced action against Lone Wolf and 16 against the Patriots. The best game of the morning featured a matchup of two of the camp’s best rising eighth graders: Ryan Perron and Sam Dowden.
