Abdul-Malik Abu made a triumphant return to his Expressions Elite squad on Saturday night, after missing the better part of the first four days while starring at the Nike Global Challenge. His return gave the team the boost of momentum they needed to win four more games en route to the Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest u17 championship. In a field made of up of several of the top AAU programs in the Northeast, as well as other areas of the US and Canada, it was Team Scan out of New York City that took home the 16u championship at the Hall of Fame National Invitational in Springfield. As action continued throughout Saturday and into Sunday morning here were more young players that caught our attention: Alex Preston – The 6’7” long and lengthy big man really impressed with his physical tools and skillset for a young player his size. He has good feet and soft hands that allow him to catch tough passes or gather rebounds for easy lay-ups around the rim.
