Brewster Academy has emerged as one of the best programs in EYBL Scholastic play this season. They built themselves around elite ball security, downhill guard play, and an active defensive presence. Brewster has executed with toughness against one of the strongest schedules in prep basketball. Their ability to control tempo, limit mistakes, and win possessions have been the factor for their current success.

Player Roles
Antonio Pemberton ’27 | Point Guard
Pemberton is the engine of Brewster’s offense and its primary decision maker. He's a true three-level scorer; he excels attacking downhill with acrobatic finishes, advanced touch around the rim, and a smooth floater package. He has the ability to create separation with his handle and consistently make the right read elevates the entire offense. Pemberton’s pace control and efficiency make him the main threat defenses have to locate every possession.
Markus Kerr ’27 | Guard
Kerr brings a high IQ and physical presence to the perimeter. He reads defenses exceptionally well, finding scoring opportunities through offensive rebounds, backdoor cuts, and strong finishes around the rim. Kerr plays with excellent positional awareness and contributes on both ends, providing secondary scoring, impacting the glass, and protecting the paint from the guard spot.
Brayden Jones ’26 | Forward
Jones is an athletic, physical interior presence who uses his size effectively to dominate the paint and the glass. Brewster often initiates offense through him at the high post and top of the key, where he uses his facilitation skills to create an offensive flow and spacing. Defensively, Jones anchors the paint and protects the rim (1.8 blocks per game), giving an undersized Brewster lineup a strong presence inside.
Darien Moore ’26 | Guard
Moore is a high motor, two-way contributor who impacts winning in multiple ways. He provides shooting, strong perimeter defense, and relentless hustle, shown by his 2.3 steals per game. Moore’s ability to defend, rebound from the guard position, and make plays allows him to fit perfectly into Brewster’s disciplined system.
Michai White ’28 | Point Guard
White brings toughness and disruption to the backcourt, averaging 1.5 steals per game. Offensively, he is especially effective coming off screens into his shot with advanced footwork for his age. His ability to score without dominating the ball and pressure opposing guards makes him a valuable piece in Brewster’s rotation.
Reece Ayala ’27 | Guard
Ayala is an athletic, high-energy guard who brings intensity on both ends of the floor. He applies strong on-ball pressure defensively, plays with quick-twitch explosiveness, and attacks the rim off two feet with his strong base. Ayala’s contribution is through his ability to push tempo, defend the point of attack, and knock down shots.
Eric Jacobsen ’26 | Forward
Jacobsen adds frontcourt skill and spacing through his pick-and-pop game. An active rebounder who also serves as a capable facilitator from the post that fins open teammates when defenses collapse.
Tayden Langdon ’27 | Guard
Langdon is an elite perimeter shooter who scores at a high level from beyond the arc. He is effective off the catch, off the dribble, and coming off screens. His strong base, quick release, and high energy make him an important floor spacer.

Loss vs. SPIRE (60-47) 1/19
Leading 28-25 at halftime, SPIRE came out strong in the second half and ultimately pulled out the victory. Antonio Pemberton and Michai White led the charge for Brewster, combining for 35 of their 47 points. Only four players made it into the scoring column for the Bobcats in this one, and they turned the ball over 16 times. At 5-2 on the season now in EYBL play, Brewster sits in a tie for second place in the standings of the conference.
Win vs. Oak Hill Academy (69–60) 1/18
Brewster earned a statement win over Oak Hill Academy. They controlled the physical aspects of the game, creating 25 second-chance points and 27 points in the paint. Antonio Pemberton paced the offense with 19 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Markus Kerr delivered a dominant two way performance with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. Brewster’s depth stood out with four players scoring in double figures, as Darien Moore added 10 points and 6 assists, and Machai White chipped in 10 points with 1 steal. Defensively, Brewster forced the issue all game, recording 10 team steals.
Win vs. Faith Family (59–57) 1/16
Brewster edged Faith Family in a highly efficient offensive outing, shooting 58.8% from three and 51.3% from the field. The team generated 16 second-chance points, turning rebounding into critical scoring. Darien Moore led the way with 19 points and 3 steals. Antonio Pemberton had 18 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals, finding different ways to create offense. Markus Kerr contributed across the board with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. All factors helped Brewster close out a tight game.
Win vs. Link Academy (61–60) 1/11
Brewster made headlines with a one point upset over #1-ranked Link Academy, leaning on interior scoring and defense to secure the win. The victory was fueled by 31 points in the paint and execution in transition. Machai White led all scorers with 18 points and 3 assists. Antonio Pemberton added 17 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, controlling late game possessions. Markus Kerr chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. Brewster’s toughness and composure carried them through a tight finish.
Win vs. Tennessee Collegiate Academy (69–59) 1/09
Brewster imposed its physicality with 23 second chance points and 22 points in the paint to control the game. Antonio Pemberton delivered a standout scoring performance with 25 points, knocking down 4-of-6 from three, all while contributing 5 rebounds. Darien Moore filled the stat sheet with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals, showing his two way impact. Markus Kerr added 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Brewster won this through consistent high effort plays.
Loss vs. AZ Compass Prep (55–67) 12/14
Brewster remained competitive but struggled to contain AZ Compass over extended stretches. Machai White led the offense with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Markus Kerr contributed 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Antonio Pemberton added 10 points and 3 assists, continuing to manage the offense under pressure. Despite the result, Brewster showed their toughness and high energy.
Win vs. Sunrise Christian Academy (61–54) 12/12
Brewster controlled the pace and pushed the tempo, scoring 22 fast break points against Sunrise Christian. The offense was efficient from deep, shooting 41.7% from three. The defensive pressure created advantages in transition that Brewster capitalized on. Antonio Pemberton finished with 18 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Markus Kerr added 18 points and 6 rebounds, knocking down shots at a high clip. Machai White chipped in 15 points and 4 steals. Brewster’s guards dictated tempo throughout the game.
