New England was well represented in Westchester this weekend as the Rhode Islands Hawks won the championship in the 17U Red division. The Hawks had to overtake a medley of New York City teams en route to the final, beating the Juice All-Stars in a hard fought battle on Saturday and then the Brooklyn Ballers and Born Ready Elite on Sunday. Worcester Academy post-graduate Darryl Reynolds returned to his high school gymnasium at Lower Merion High School in Pennsylvania to announce that he would be returning closer to home to play his college basketball. The Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) opened their 2013 season this past weekend in Los Angeles. This weekend Wesleyan University hosted their annual Basketbull event that saw top teams from all over the northeast region come to Middletown, Connecticut to compete for a championship.
