Former N.E. Prep Product Big East Bound
Angel Delgado was a relative unknown during his lone season in New England.
A product of Redemption Christian Academy, a school that was transitioning their campus from Troy, New York to Northfield, Massachusetts, Delgado and his teammates literally split time between the two campuses last year.
When he did play in New England, he showed signs of what many have come to know this spring and summer, that he is one of the top big men, and specifically one of the top rebounders in the entire country.
His most notable performances came at the Hoop Mountain Prep Classic, the Ballas T.V. Invitational, and the National Prep School Invitational.
Here's a look at some of those highlights care of Ballas T.V.
Delgado's national breakout didn't occur until this year's grassroots season, when he starred on the Nike EYBL circuit with the New York Lightning.
The six-foot-nine big man put up 13.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game during the EYBL regular season, scoring offers from the likes of Virginia, Florida State, and numerous other high-major programs in the process.
On Friday, Delgado committed to Seton Hall while at home in the Dominican Republic.
He's an absolutely critical addition for Pirates' head coach Kevin Willard, as he looks to rebuild his program after a very dissapointing 2012-2013 season.
Delgado will spend his senior season at Huntington Prep in West Virginia before joining Seton Hall for the 2014-2015 season.
