With the third and final week of the July evaluation period now up and running and programs scattered across the country from Las Vegas to Orlando to Atlantic City to Springfield and various places in between, it is time to take stock of what we saw last week. BABC Wins AAU 19u Championship

The Boston Amateur Basketball Club captured their latest AAU gold medal on Sunday when they won the 19-and-under national championship at Disney's Wide World of Sports just outside of Orlando, Florida.  BABC dominated the field. They scored three easy wins in pool play by knocking off SOYSA 79-50, the RAP  Suns 56-33, and the Spartanburg Spartans 70-37. Buscetto Earns NE-10 Scholarship

Waterford High School and Connecticut Playmakers point guard Mike Buscetto made an early commitment to Southern New Hampshire earlier last week. Buscetto is coming off a big junior season in which he was named second team All-New Haven Register, Conference Player of the Year, and First Team All-State. Jaecee Martin won't be going to prep school after all. The Weaver graduate, who finished his high school career with one of the more decorated resumes in recent CIAC history, had planned to attend Woodstock Academy this fall alongside his brother Chaylyn, who had previously committed to Sacred Heart in the class of 2018.
