The University of Vermont continues to give local, in-state talent the opportunity to show they belong at the D1 level. Rice Memorial senior guard Michel Ndayishimiye is the latest recipient of such an opportunity. Ndayishimiye will join the Catamounts next year as a recruited walk-on and is likely to redshirt. Putnam Science big man Elijah Hutchins-Everett announced a verbal commitment to Austin Peay on Tuesday. Former Duke associate head coach Nate James was named the new head coach at APSU earlier this month. The 6-foot-11 Hutchins-Everett came up the ranks as a highly decorated young prospect, competing in both the EYBL with the New Jersey Playaz and the UAA with We-R1. He previously announced his commitment to Penn State in August only to decommit following the coaching change in November. …

Expressions Elite sophomore Taylor Bowen was profiled by the Impact Sports Network at last week's Northeast Hoops Festival. Bowen grew up in Vermont before spending the last two years at St. George's in Rhode Island where he established himself as a national caliber product.
