Dioubate Picks Alabama
Putnam Science Academy & PSA Cardinals forward Mouhamed Dioubate announced his commitment to Alabama on Sunday afternoon.
Dioubate began his high school career at John Bowne HS in Flushing, NY. In the 2019-20 season, he was a key part of their 24-5 team that won the PSAL Queens Boro Championship. Dioubate had per game averages of 11.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, and 1.5 steals.
His next full high school season after the COVID-19 Pandemic took place at PSA where he reclassified into 2023. Dioubate earned a rotation spot for a Mustangs squad that proved to be the nation’s best in prep school basketball. PSA went 38-0 en route to winning the 2022 National Prep Championship and AAA Power 5 Conference.
Dioubate stood out on the Nike EYBL circuit this past spring and summer. He led the PSA Cardinals in scoring and rebounding with per game averages of 14.4 points and 7.4 rebounds.
“Mouhamed is one of the best kids we have ever had in this program,” said PSA head coach Tom Espinosa. “In terms of on and off the court, he has come a long way in two years here.”
“Moe is a mismatch nightmare. He is one of the best rebounders to ever come through our program and we have had a lot of great ones such as Mamadou Diarra, Alexis Yetna, and Josh Mballa. Moe and I are on the same page to finish this year strong and win another national championship.”
Dioubate becomes the fifth member of PSA’s 2023 class who has finalized their plans to play division one college basketball next fall.
