The action for the Hoop Mountain Prep Classic tipped off in Thompson, Connecticut on Thursday with teams representing seven different states and two countries in action. CJEOTO Blue (NJ) 58 v Mack Prep Academy (NC) 65 Quevyn Winters (Mack) dominated the glass early and often collecting 13 rebounds and adding an effortless 21 points for the game. The Tilton Boys Varsity Basketball team recently returned from Peoria, Illinois where they competed in the State Farms Tournament of Champions. After wins against Sunrise Christian Academy of Kansas and Trent International of Texas, Tilton faced off against Huntington Prep of West Virginia in Saturday’s championship, in a match-up of two of the top five programs in the country. Two of Boston’s finest basketball programs, Charlestown and New Mission, went up against each other in the Beantown Slam at the Dorchester House on Friday. It was interesting to see a match-up of two of the top MIAA teams so early in the year. Charlestown started off the game with a 10-0 run.
