Steven Adams: Week I Completed

Steven Adams made his long awaited American debut this week and after ten days in a Notre Dame Prep uniform the reviews are in.

Despite a somewhat disappointing performance at the Spalding Hoophall Classic, the reviews are largely positive at this point as he opened his prep school career with 23 points and 13 rebounds against Nerlens Noel at the BABC Prep Classic and capped Notre Dame’s triple header with an MVP performance at Monday’s Big Apple Basketball Classic.

While virtually every national media outlet in the country has broken down Adams’ debut within the last week, the reality of the situation is that he has a world of talent but still needs to be given the time to adjust to the bright lights, fast pace, and physical nature of the American game.

Even while taking that adjustment into consideration there is no denying that his presence immediately propels Notre Dame into contention for a national title while also giving Pittsburgh’s recruiting class the type of interior presence that they have so far lacked this season.
