BABC Select Tour tips off Wednesday

Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) will be kicking off their season this week with the annual BABC Select Tour. The tour will touch all four regions of MIAA High School Basketball and see the BABC Sophomores take on MIAA Region Sophs/Juniors, and the BABC Juniors take on MIAA Region Seniors. Vermont Academy senior guard Will Brady is headed to Tufts University next season to continue his basketball career in the NESCAC. Waters Requests Release

Tremont Waters, the top rated player left in New England's 2017 class, requested a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with Georgetown during November's Early Signing Period on Saturday. The news was first reported by ESPN. Waters initially announced his commitment to Georgetown during an October press conference. Cabassa Earns Scholarship

Holderness School senior forward Daniel Cabassa made a verbal commitiment to Post University last Thursday, accepting a full athletic scholarship offer from the NCAA division II school. The New York native had accumulated multiple scholarship offers over the course of his senior season but Post was the very first to offer back in September shortly after he wrapped up his summer with the D.C. Perfect National Championship

This may not have been Brewster Academy's most individually talented talented team, but they will go down as their most historic. Jason Smith's club capped a perfect, 33-0, season by winning their fifth national championship in the last eight years on Thursday night. Final Four Set for National Prep Championship

The 2017 National Prep Championship tipped off on Wednesday at Albertus Magnus College with opening round and quarterfinal action.
