Boston Amateur Basketball Club (BABC) will be kicking off their season this week with the annual BABC Select Tour. The tour will touch all four regions of MIAA High School Basketball and see the BABC Sophomores take on MIAA Region Sophs/Juniors, and the BABC Juniors take on MIAA Region Seniors. Tremont Waters, the top rated player left in New England's 2017 class, requested a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with Georgetown during November's Early Signing Period on Saturday. The news was first reported by ESPN. Waters initially announced his commitment to Georgetown during an October press conference. Holderness School senior forward Daniel Cabassa made a verbal commitiment to Post University last Thursday, accepting a full athletic scholarship offer from the NCAA division II school. This may not have been Brewster Academy's most individually talented talented team, but they will go down as their most historic. Jason Smith's club capped a perfect, 33-0, season by winning their fifth national championship in the last eight years on Thursday night. The 2017 National Prep Championship tipped off on Wednesday at Albertus Magnus College with opening round and quarterfinal action.
