Gerard Coleman spent the day on Providence College’s campus on Sunday as he visited the school unofficially. Before he left he gave head coach Keno Davis some very good news, making a verbal commitment to join the Friars program. “I knew coming up here that I was going to commit today,” Coleman told the New England Recruiting Report shortly after informing Providence’s coaching staff of his decision. The first ever New England Skills Academy was held recently in Connecticut. The program featured two weekly sessions for a six week period with a cumulative skill development curriculum. Led by former Quinnipiac University head coach Joe DeSantis, the program was designed for high school players hoping to play college basketball in the future. Bob Hurley Sr. and his son Danny Hurley will be running a week long camp next week at the Belmont Hill School in Massachusetts for high school players from the area. Reigning America East rookie of the year Jake O’Brien has decided to return to Boston University for his sophomore season. O’Brien asked for, and was granted, his release following the school’s firing of former head coach Dennis Wolff.
