Melsahn Basabe is heading to the University of Iowa to play for head coach Fran McCaffery, who he originally committed to last fall at Siena. Basabe announced his decision via his twitter account saying, "It's offical - I'm an Iowa Hawkeye now." Brewster Academy post-graduate Kyle Tazioli committed to Stonehill on Friday and is expected to sign with the school either Saturday or Monday according to Brewster head coach Jason Smith. Tazioli is a versatile six-foot-six forward who projected as an important contributor for Brewster early in the fall but ended up missing much of the season after being diagnosed with mononucleosis. Newly appointed Trinity College head coach Jamie Cosgrove earned his first commitment yesterday from New Hampton forward Eric Dean. Dean was originally recruited by former Trinity interim head coach Sean Tabb, but opted to commit to Cosgrove and still join the Trinity program. In Saturday's recap from the Providence Jam Fest we told you that Tavon Allen had the dunk of the day when Phil Gaetano found him cutting through the lane.
