Dean Pledges to Trinity

Newly appointed Trinity College head coach Jamie Cosgrove earned his first commitment yesterday from New Hampton forward Eric Dean

Dean was originally recruited by former Trinity interim head coach Sean Tabb, but opted to commit to Cosgrove and still join the Trinity program.

On the surface, Dean would seem to be the perfect fit for Cosgrove's style.  A defensive oriented coach who built succesful programs at Endicott and Adelphi, Cosgrove thrives with tough, hard-nosed kids, and that's exactly what Dean is.

An absolute warrior on the court, Dean plays bigger than he is inside the paint and established himself as a tremendous valuable role player at New Hampton over the last two years as someone who would do all the little things necessary for his team to win.

On the AAU circuit, Dean starred for the Granite State Jayhawks and showed his ability to be a defensive playmaker with tremendous anticipation skills in their full court pressure and also someone who could consistently score the ball by going hard to the basket and utilizing a much improved jump shot.
