Cheshire Academy senior guard Ray Jerome made a verbal commitment to UPenn on Saturday night. Jerome is a 6-foot-3 off-guard now in his second season in the NEPSAC after reclassifying upon his arrival last year. Last week Beaver Country Day junior guard Javon Taylor announced that he was again open in his recruitment.
Taylor had previously committed to Providence in the summer before his sophomore year and the word "de-commitment" launched a social media fire-storm.
The more important story, is a lesson for all young players, about the meaning of early offers and early commitments.

Tommy Mobley proved himself a division I player within the last year. Brewster Academy big man Jack Lieb brought an end to what was turning into a very busy recruitment on Wednesday with a verbal commitment to Lehigh. Master's School's 6-foot-11 big man Sam Ibiezugbe told the New England Recruiting Report on Friday that he had made a verbal commitment to Monmouth University.
