Gatorade Announces Players of Year

McDaniels Makes Pick

It was a big weekend for Samir McDaniels as the New Mission senior led his team to their second consecutive state championship on Saturday, knocking off Northbridge 67-57.  Less than 24 hours later and McDaniels was back on the court, this time as an all-star at the BasketBull New England All-Star Challenge where he scored a team high 24 points for the North squad.  What few people realized, was that McDaniels had put an end to his recruitment to start… READ MORE >

South Kent Big Man Heading to SEC

Nemanja Djurisic, a 6-foot-8 power forward from the South Kent School in Conn., made a verbal commitment to Georgia on Sunday. Djurisic was one of the top big men left available on the East Coast and had seen considerably increasing high-major recruitment throughout his final season. BasketBull All-Star Challenge – Event Recap

Bishop Guertin, Milford Take Titles in NHIAA

Division I Belongs to Bishop Guertin Bishop Guertin captured their first state championship in 28 years and it was only appropriate that the senior duo of Connor Green and Sean McClung finished with identical 22 point performances. Hoop Group Top 100 – Event Recap

One day after the Hoop Mountain Spring Classic, the Hoop Group came up to New England to run a showcase of their own at Gordon College, inviting several division II and III schools to witness some of the very solid players in the gym.  To start the event, players were put through a workout series that included ball handling drills, transition drills, and an L cut/V cut individual offense series. From the very first day of the pre-season St. John’s Prep and New Mission were anointed as the overwhelming favorites in the MIAA.  That prediction came to pass on Saturday at the DCU Center as both programs captured state championships.  Whitinsville Christian Takes D3 Whitinsville Christian made big free-throws down the stretch and came away with a state title, ending Watertown’s latest run 42-36.  Hans Miersma led the way for Whitinsville with a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds… READ MORE >
