Some teams have a small sparkplug point guard that makes their team go. Groton (MA) Lawrence Academy has one such player in Stevie Mejia. The diminutive (5'8") point guard, who transferred from Lexington (MA) Christian, grew up with teammate Darryl Cato-Bishop in Boston. The two longtime friends talked during the off-season, and that helped set things in motion for his transfer, one that moves him even further away from the city. Lawrence has good talent like last year, but most feel…

Winchendon, who was coming off of a hard fought victory over Laurinburg at the Big Apple High School Basketball Classic a day earlier, struggled from the onset. Against the hard nosed Harmony defense Winchendon was only able to shoot 27%…

Behind Hubbard and New Hampshire bound point guard Sal Abdo St. Mark’s has two battle tested…

There is little disputing that Chris Prescott, B.J. Monteiro, and RJ Evans are three of the best guards the CIAC has to offer in the junior class. The interesting question occurs when you try to compare the three. On Wednesday we had the opportunity to see all three play, including a mid-day battle that featured two undefeated teams in Evans’ Norwich Free Academy and Prescott’s Northwest Catholic. When the game tipped off a variety of college coaches were on hand…
