Rivals, Playaz Invited to Adidas Gauntlet Finale

The Mass Rivals and New England Playaz have both been selected to participate in the Adidas Uprising Gauntlet Finale on July 8th - 10th in Atlanta. 

With 56 sponsored teams from across the country taking part in the Gauntlet's first two stops in Dallas and Indianapolis during the April evaluation period, only the top 16 were invited to the Finale, which takes place during the first three days of the July evaluation period.

The Playaz and Rivals both earned at-large bids into the field after only suffering one loss during the first two stops on the Gauntlet circuit. They also finished one and two respectively in point-per-possession differential according to Group Stats.

The 2017 backcourt tandem of Makai Ashton-Langford and Wabissa Bede led the Rivals in both scoring and assists while Wenyen Gabriel has added high-major scholarship offers at a rapid rate in the three weeks since the evaluation period came to an end.

Playaz' sophomore point guard Tremont Waters currently ranks second overall in steals and third overall in assists in the entire Gauntlet field. He is also the Playaz' leading scorer while A.J. Brodeur has led the team in rebounding.
