Unsigned 2025 Event Recap - The Wings

The wings we saw on Monday's Unsigned showcase at Emmanuel College were definitely a talented bunch. This group comes from all parts of the northeast with some having roots outside of New England.

Let's take a look at who stood out.

Terrance Clark, Lee (ME) - As one of the top options for Lee this season, averaging around the 20 point mark, Clark came in with a budding reputation. With a roughly 6'5" stature, the upstate New York native lived up to the bill. In his outings, his shooting touch stood out, as his quick release and ability to rise up led to made shots. His quickness translates to driving as well where he penetrated the defense at-will. Another name who has received scholarship looks.

Luke Soden, Phillips Exeter (NH) - After making rounds in New England as a standout player at Bedford High School, Soden moved onto play a postgraduate year at Phillips Exeter. The 6'4" has a knack for putting the ball through the net, with the scoring versatility to do so at all three-levels. He's tough, has bounce to really pressure the rim, and can defend multiple positions. Soden has received scholarship interest thus far, and is still in play for the class of 2025.

Kordell Philemon, Stoneham (MA) - Philemon came into the showcase with pretty big expectations and performed well in this setting. He plays scrappy, physical defense with some switchability, and thrived on the interior as a shot-blocker. On offense, he attacked the basket and was able to finish in a variety of ways around the rim using his size. Standing at 6'5" and with a versatile tool belt of skills, he's open to JUCO and postgraduate options as well as those at the collegiate level.

Xaivien Witherspoon, Chapel Hill Chauncey Hall (MA) -  One coach told us that Witherspoon was a prospect he saw at the event who was hiding in plain sight, and we agreed. The 6'5" CH-CH wing's explosiveness shined when he got into the defense and looked to throw down above the rim. He operates especially well off ball, making cuts to the basket, and smart reads after setting a screen. His ability to use either hand on finishes was another aspect of his game that stood out.

Mazen Elbeik, Reason Prep (MA) - Elbeik is a volume scorer that certainly garnered himself some looks the other night for his play in the event. The 6'6" wing is a known shooter, but showed off some other elements of his arsenal in this setting, making floaters on the run, and getting into defenders to finish off the glass. Schools looking for scorers on the wing with size should check him out.

Jayden White, Burke (MA) - The 6'4" wing was a consistent standout in our viewings of the ZGXL last summer, played well at Emmanuel College on Monday. He's a defensive weapon at times that can really guard the ball and get phyiscal. He gets to the rim, and while his pull-up game isn't his go-to asset, it really stood out as he was hitting shots off the bounce.

Benny Oldperson-Harlow, Bridgton (ME) - The postgraduate out of Montana had himself a great night surrounded by a team full of his Bridgton teammates. Harlow's leadership and character was apparent as he directed the offense around. His shot's were falling with a swift release on them from three and in the mid-range. He can definitely help a college program next season.

James Jones, BC High (MA) - The bigger wing has some power to his game which he asserts in the right moments, specifically when rebounding, or going up towards the rim for dunks. He was able to attack the basket off the bounce and convert a few times, while competing on the defensive end.

LaDariun Jones, East HS (NY) - Making the trip east from Rochester New York, Jones put his skill set to the test. At 6'5", the wing has a slim frame, but still can take contact and attack the rim. He's got athleticism in the lane to finish on either side of the basket, and quickness to get there.

Adolphe Sacha Gourreau,  Lee (ME) - While Gourreau stands around the 6'3" mark, he was able to really get into taller players on both ends of the floor. On offense, he was able to attack frontcourt players and finish through contact, while on the defensive end, he can guard above his size competently.

Adomas Klinga, Chapel Hill Chauncey Hall (MA) - Klinga was aggressive with the ball, oftentimes getting a pass and attacking the rim right away. Once moving downhill, he has a smooth step through move and solid finishing ability off the glass. His rebounding stood out as well.

Gustavo Coutinho, Milford (MA) - Following a playoff run with Milford High School in the MIAA, Coutinho took his talents to Emmanuel College to play in front of numerous college coaches. The 6'3" wing has some multi-level scoring ability with athleticism to match, especially on finishes around the basket. He's got a pretty smooth release on three's as well.
