Class of ‘25 Commitment Catch Up pt. 1

Throughout the year there have been numerous prospects across New England who announced their decisions to play at the next level. As always, we will be doing our best to cover those guys and highlight what they were able to accomplish during their high school careers.

To begin, we will take a look at eight prospects from north to south who will play at the Division II and III levels.

Allyn Wright, Keene State

Winning the illustrious ISL championship is a great way to finish off your senior year if you ask us, and that’s exactly what Allyn Wright and company did this season. Wright’s crafty skills with the ball have stood out for a while, going through the ranks with guys like Barrett Loer, Anthony Daley, and Dylan Veillette. He can light up the scoring column using his elite footwork on drives to get defenders off balance, or stop and pop from three.

Wright will join the Owls of Keene State, who have built themselves into a powerhouse and look to once again make the NCAA Tournament with Wright in tow next year.

Wyatt Benoit, Wheaton College

Benoit put his head down and worked during his high school career. It took him two years to crack the varsity basketball team at Thornton Academy, but once he did, he made the most of it. Benoit crossed the 1,000 point plateau on a fast break and one play, doing so in a short period of time.

Benoit will join the Lyon's of Wheaton College in the NEWMAC this fall.

Avery Mickens, Western New England

Mickens finished off a very impressive career in the CIAC last year with a strong run in the CCC Tournament. The 6’2 guard is a fluid scorer that can really shoot it at multiple levels of the floor, while also being able to get to the rack. He capped off his this season with 21 points on five of eight from outside, again showing how great his shotmaking ability is.

Mickens spent a postgraduate year with Suffield Academy this season, and will be joining the Western New England Golden Bears this fall who just had a big run in the NCAA Tournament.

Aston Whittingham, Suffolk

Whittingham flew a bit under the radar, but jumped onto ours in major fashion at the Elite 75 College Showcase last June. His quickness to get past the defense, and rise up to the rim was eye catching and allowed him to play very well in that setting. The shifty guard reached 1,000 points this winter with his family in the house for senior night, and went on to average 20 for the season.

Whittingham had a great career at SMSA, and will go on to play at Suffolk University who was in the house for his electric Elite 75 debut last June.

Gabe Lash, Southern Maine

Lash stands at 6’7 and was inarguably one of the best frontcourt players we got eyes on when the NERR staff traveled up north last summer. He brings a ton of physicality to the floor with a strong interior game to score inside, or rebound the ball in bunches. After a strong senior season, Lash averaged a double double of 14.8 points and 12.8 rebounds, leading his team to an 18-0 regular season record.

Prior to finishing up his senior season at Medowmak Valley High School, Lash announced his commitment to play for his former AAU coach Mikey Coppersmith at the University of Southern Maine.

Jamari Robinson, Bates

Robinson really started to pick up steam as a junior at Belmont Hill playing next to Isaiah Langham and Giacomo Kaplan, and finished off a great senior year this year. Robinson is a pure scoring threat with some twitch off the bounce to get to his spots. He was a big piece to the Middlesex Magic HGSL victory last summer, serving as scoring guard off the bench.

Robinson will head up north to compete in the prestigious NESCAC Conference up at Bates College.

Justin Munger, Cedarville

It was evident upon our first viewing of Munger back in June of 2024 that he could potentially play at the scholarship level. Well, that did happen as Cedarville University in Ohio uncovered the 6’7 forward despite the fact that he was somewhat hidden in the Green Mountain State. Munger’s skilled play with the ball to score inside and out will definitely make rounds away from home.

While he technically was an online student, Munger finished off his career playing for BFA St. Alban’s, and heads to Cedarville Ohio this fall.

Isaiah Andino, Curry

In a 51 point rout of Woburn on senior night, Andino put on a scoring clinic, dropping 31 points in just the first half alone to surpass 1,000 for his career. Andino’s a great scorer off the bounce, and can make things happen from beyond the arc or when attacking the basket. He had numerous 20 plus point outings this season, and gave his all to his Methuen squad.

Andino heads to Curry College along with his teammate Netheniel Clemente to play for Head Coach Phil Alibrandi.
