Unsigned 2025 Event Recap - The C/F’s pt. 1

Throughout the week we will be highlighting the high level talent that walked into the gym at Emmanuel College. By our count, there were at least 50 schools in the building, with a good number showing up with more than one coach.

There was a hoard of talent to be seen last night, only speaking to the level of players left on the board in the class of 2025. Out of the 80ish kids who put on an Elite 75 jersey, there were definitely guys who can play at all levels of the college game, including the Division 1 level.

To kick things off, we’re going to take a look at a handful of bigs and forwards who stood out, with more to come shortly on the rest of the crew in the frontcourt.

Alex Yhukymchuk, Norwood (MA) - Yhukymchuk's massive stature jumps off the page right away, and the Ukrainian native measured in as a true 6'11" big man. On the court, his defensive prowess inside allowed him to send shots back with ease throughout the night, and effectively used his length to guard out on the perimeter. His offensive post game allowed him to score inside, and coaches were all over him as the night went on.

Julien Kabori CATS (MA) - Kabori's blend of size and mobility has garnered him attention throughout his time playing, and especially in New England. The big forward shined in the event, scoring the ball at-will whether it was off the bounce, or getting up for dunks off a pass. He was able to use his body to his advantage on the boards, to slip past defenders on baseline drives, and to get up and meet shots at the pinnacle.

Grgo Katic, Lee (ME) - There’s an argument to be made that Katic was one of the biggest winners of the night, as the Lee Academy forward showed out in front of the coaches in the building. Katic's ability to impact the game at multiple levels, whether it was as a shooter from deep and in, or getting downhill to flush down dunks was memorable. His release at 6'7" is very fluid and a big advantage on the perimeter.

Blair Thomas, Bridgton (ME) - The Delaware native playing at the forward spot had a good night at the unsigned event. His relentless ability to haul in boards and willingness to put himself out there on that end definitely impacts games. He was effective getting to the rim, finishing inside, and spacing the floor from outside as a shooter.

Souleymane Sylla, Lee (ME) - The 6’11” Malian big man impressed in his outing at Emmanuel College, showing some floor spacing to add to his interior presence. Sylla made a few three's off the catch, with a nice looking release to his shot. His post game is notable with his soft touch off the glass allowing him to impact the scoring column down low. He made some cuts to the basket for easy points, and his overall size/athleticism are very notable.

Samson Zack, IMG (FL) - Coming up from Bradenton Florida with the IMG crew, Zack's ability to score the ball from different areas of the court stood out. At 6'7", he was able to convert off the catch, while also putting the ball on the floor on drives and finishing above the rim. His jumper was effective, making them often in the mid-range, with a certain aspect of fluidity to it as well.

Courage Agbekpornu, Bright School (CT) - The Ghanaian forward had some great moments in front of those watching last night. Standing around 6'5", Agbekpornu's athleticism and ability to play bigger are definitely some notable aspects he brings to the floor. He gets really physical on the defensive end, matching that with a high motor. His finishing inside has made leaps and bounds over the past couple of years, and he can really get off the floor to score above the rim.

Dantae Clarke, Bridgton (ME) - Hailing from Mashpee Massachusetts, Clarke headed up to Bridgton for a postgraduate year, and showcased his talents last night. At 6'7", his interior presence definitely stood out as he protected the rim and was a major factor on the boards. His release is a bit unorthodox, but you can't give him space because he will make shots. Schools looking for forwards with mobility and size should look his way.

Again, stay tuned as we have a ton more to come on the talented 2025 prospects who made their way to Emmanuel College last night.
