With state tournaments beginning to get underway our final notable performance listing of the year features just over 75 talented players from around New England.  Here is a look at who stood out: 

Connecticut

Player of the Week – Gedas Bertasius, Marianapolis Prep:  Marianapolis was on a roll over the last week claiming big wins over Brimmer & May, Ocean Academy, and finally Tilton.  Bertasius had his finger prints all over each as he scored 11 points while grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 5 assists vs. Brimmer, had 26 points and 8 rebounds vs. Ocean, and 28 points (including 20 in the first half) and 7 rebounds against Tilton

Player of the Week – Nich Jobin, Westbrook High School:  The senior big man scored 25 points in a 68-47 win over Gorham on Friday and earned recognition as the SMAA League MVP later in the week.

Player of the Week – Eric Alleyne, Brimmer & May:  The senior guard played the some of the best basketball of his career last week as he dropped 26 points on Marianapolis while handing out 8 assists, had 21 and 7 in a win over Milton Academy, and 29 and 9 against Proctor Academy.

Player of the Week – Alex LaRosa, Salem High School:  LaRosa poured in 40 points, setting a school record with nine three-pointers in the process, as he led Salem to a dramatic double overtime win over Alvirne 75-72.

•  Dan Lang, Coe Brown – game high 24pts including 12 in 4th quarter over Essex 58-54
•  Trevor Glines, Fellowship Christian – scored 1000th point vs. North Shore
•  Jesse Gould, Winnacunnet – 33pts and 8 three-pointers over Timberlane 74-48
•  C.J. Flanders, Londonberry – 24pts, 6 threes & game winning lay-up over Exeter

Player of the Week – Michael Carter-Williams, St. Andrew’s:  The junior guard earned Most Outstanding Player honors at the National Prep School Invitational going for 36 points in a hard fought loss to Westwind Prep from Arizona and then dropping 37 on MCI on Sunday to lead the Saints to a win over the class A program.

•  Antonio Mena, Central Falls – scored 1000th point & grabbed 850th reb vs. J. Sanchez
•  Bryan Vachon, Bishop Hendricken – 24pts (16 in second half) in 74-61 win over Central
•  Nick Jean-Gilles, Fatima – 19pts including 1000th of his career in 49-34 win over Davies
•  Vladimir Alcindor, Tolman – 21pts & 15rebs to lead Tolman over Warick 98-45
•  Malcolm Moniz, Shea – 23pts in 75-74 win over North Providence
•  Rory McEntee & Ben Hamill, South Kingston – 27pts & 24 over Hope 75-60
•  Rob Hazard, North Kingston – 24pts in 74-65 win over Hope

Vermont

Player of the Week – Jimmy Lau, Lyndon:  The senior sharp-shooter scored 27 points in a win over Lamoile, another 27 in a loss to U-32, and 30 points in a win over Randolph to become Lyndon’s all-time leading scorer.

•  Zach Currier, Proctor - 21 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Poultney
•  Eric Dubuque, South Burlington - 21 points in a win over Essex
•  Josh Varney, South Burlington - 18 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Essex
•  Ben Ferris, Essex - 28 points and 10 assists in a loss to South Burlington
•  Joe OShea, Burlington - 42 points & 8 threes in win over Spauling, 20 over S. Burlington
•  Evan Tullar, Spaulding - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a loss to Burlington
•  Richie Hackett, Lake Region - 25 pts over Stowe and 20 pts over People's Academy
•  Emmitt Simpson, Lake Region - 23 pts over Stowe & 20 over People's Academy
•  Connor Merrill, Vergennes - 20 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Mt. Abe.
•  Kyle Callanan, Mt. Anthony - became Mt. Anthony's all-time leader in points
•  Demir Smajovic, Essex - scored 27 points in a loss to CVU
•  Ethan Brown, Mt. Mansfield - 23 points in a win over Colchester
•  Nick Swim, St. Albans - 20 points and 6 assists in a win against Milton
•  Jake Maynard, Rice HS - 19 points and 11 rebounds in a win over North Country
•  Jaren Scrubb, Stowe - scored 32 points in a loss to BFA-Fairfax
•  Marcus Willingham, Rice HS - 13 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to CVU
