New England Elite 75 Showcase Preview

The field is even stronger than a year ago with players from all six states represented.  The Massachusetts contingent is led by the likes of Troy Gillenwater, Alex Oriakhi, Jamal Coombs, Nate Lubick, Nadir Tharpe, and many others, while the Connecticut group includes the likes of David Gibbs, Tyrone Gardner, B.J. Monteiro, Tevin Baskin, and Chris PrescottErik Murphy and Mike Marra headline the Rhode Island group while Patrick Saunders, Candon Rusin, and Sam Leclerc are leading the New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine groups respectively.  Complete rosters will be released early next week.

The day will begin with some brief, position based, skill instruction sessions led by some of the best high school and prep school coaches the region has to offer.  Following that each player will compete in a series of games as they earn a chance to play in the all-star game.  The day will conclude with a series of “legend runs” which will feature the Elite 75 participants against former New England products who have moved on to starring roles at the next level including:  Matt Bonner (NBA); Donny Marshall (NBA), T.J. Sorentine (European Professional League); Jeff Adrien & Doug Wiggins (UConn); Anthony Gurley (Wake Forest); Luke Bonner (Massachusetts); Mike Trimboli (Vermont); Jonathan Kale (Providence); Jim Baron, Lamonte Ulmer, & Keith Cothran (URI); Travis King (George Washington); and Chad Miller (Creighton). 

Recruiting Services on hand will include Scout.com, Hoop Scoop Online, ESPN & Scouts Inc, Hoopville.com, Tom Konchalski & the HSBI Report, and the New England Recruiting Report.  Additional media outlets that will be covering the event include SLAM magazine, Fox Sports New England TV, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Providence Journal, Worcester Telegram, and the New London Day.

The New England Elite 75 Showcase is open to the public.  The action begins at 10am at Case Gymnasium on the campus of Boston University.
