Morrison Back on the Market
Phillips Exeter Academy post-graduate Troy Morrison is back on the market and again open in his recruitment.
College coaches began backing off Morrison earlier this fall when he was believed to be heading closer to his home in Georgia, but that never came to fruition and so now high academic schools have another talented two-way player available at the relatively late date.
A pure point guard and hard-nosed defender, Morrison is a little bit of a throwback style player in that he is plenty capable of creating his own offense but especially unique because he can make a dramatic impact on the game without having to score a point thanks to his abilities to defend, distribute and run a team.
Morrison is one of three Exeter post-grads still available as Evan Crawford and Kyle Daugherty remain uncommitted as well.
Together that trio has helped lead Exeter to win three of their last four, including a 77-72 decision over AA powerhouse Tilton, and peak at just the right time as they prepare to head into post-season play.
While Morrison has run the show from the point, Crawford and Daugherty have been no less important. Crawford is a power player on the perimeter and constant aggressor for Exeter while Daugherty had been hurt for much of the season, but is now back to full strength and was a key to the victory against Tilton with 21 points.
Exeter wraps up the regular season with games against Thayer and Andover this week before looking to defend their back-to-back class A championships.
