Local Products Attend NBPA Top 100 Camp
The National Basketball Players Association's NBPA Top 100 Camp officially got underway on Tuesday night at the University of Virginia and after a full opening day of action yesterday, college coaches will arrive Thursday and be permitted to evaluate for two sessions.
In addition to NCAA college coaches, the NBPA is also be open to NBA scouts for the second consecutive year.
New England is being represented by Expressions Elite and Brewster Academy's Terrence Clarke, PSA Cardinals and Putnam Science Academy's Hassan Diarra, PSA Cardinals and Brewster Academy's Jamal Mashburn Jr., and PSA Cardinals and MacDuffie's Richard Springs. Expressions big man Moussa Cisse, who attends Christ the King High School in New York, is also in the field.
The NBPA Camp includes classroom discussions and a comprehensive on and off-the-court basketball program.
Additionally, the NBPA has run a Coaching Program for the last 16 years which affords current and former NBA players the opportunity to gain hands-on experience coaching a team and working with some of the best young players in the field.
Finally, the Parent Program was added in 2003 for parents to learn alongside their children.
Since its inception in 1994, over 400 former NBPA Top 100 Camp players have gone on to play in the NBA.
