Jaguars Repeat at Super Regionals

The Bay State Jaguars Elite and BABC took to court #1 on Sunday night and thrilled the standing room only crowd during the 14U Championship at the 2010 New England AAU Super Regional in Foxboro.

The Jaguars opened the game with a 9-0 run, but BABC brought the game back, taking the lead 32-31.  The Jaguars would counter with a run of their own to work the lead back to 39-32 just prior to halftime.

Guard play was the story for both teams in the first half as the Jaguars were led by A.J. Maestas who scored 17 points including many buckets in transition while also playing some great defense and BABC was led by explosive guard Jonathan Joseph who scored 17 first half points of his own.

Led by point guard Patrick Benzan, the Jaguars were able to take control in the second as Benzan was able to control the tempo of the game and find Jarred Reuter inside for a number of easy buckets.  Reuter finished as the game's high scorer with 25 points.

The lead eventually stretched to as many as 20 points in the second half as the Jaguars continued to control the tempo while also utilizing their size to establish a rebounding edge inside.  Jeremy Miller, Tyler Nelson, Nick Simonetti, Kevin Conner, Drew Shea, and Kyle Rodriguez all played very well for the Jaguars Elite team who captured their second Super Regional title in as many years.
