Elite 75 College Showcase Recap pt. 2

Following the Elite 75 this past Wednesday at Clark, we will be taking a look at each of the showcase teams and highlighting what they do well. Here's a look at one of the squads.

Daniel Slatkavitz (Belmont Hill, MA) is able to play with toughness, even through injury. He brings intensity when he steps on the floor. He does a good job attacking the paint and making the right plays. He is able to use his stronger frame to grab rebounds and take contact in the lane well. Good handle on the ball.

Cooper Galdenzi (MacDuffie, MA) is a high-IQ combo guard with a great motor on both sides of the ball. He is a very aggressive shot creator, capable of scoring at all three levels. Crafty handle to create space. Attacks the rim for acrobatic finishes and knocks down the midrange.

Joseph Fein (Norwell HS, MA) does a great job of knocking down shots and making hustle plays. Fluid, consistent, repeatable form that keeps defenses on edge. He is also a capable finisher around the rim and does a good job finding the open man when he gets going downhill.

Abdiel Zapata (Clinton HS, MA) is a good player on both sides of the ball. He is a solid defender with good size for his position. On offense he uses his strong frame to attack the basket and finish through contact. Good vision as a playmaker, makes the right passes.

Christos Vasilakeris (St. John’s Shrewsbury, MA) is a forward with length. He runs the floor well and is active on the boards, and he also has a nice looking jumpshot. He spaces the floor, particularly due to his ability to play the perimeter.

Kyle Fuchs (Natick HS, MA) is a knock down shooter who is constantly moving without the ball. Can knock down contested jump shots. He cuts well, and screens off the ball to create opportunities for his teammates.

James Meklis (Bishop Fenwick, MA) is a point guard capable of getting to the rim and finishing around defenders. He also makes it a point to get into the lane and find the open player when he attacks the middle. He is a smart player who creates for others and makes hustle plays.
