Buchanan Latest Woodstock Product to Decide
Woodstock Academy post-graduate Elijah Buchanan became the 7th member of the program's 2018 class to accept a full athletic scholarship on Saturday, and 6th to commit to a division I school.
Buchanan will be returning close to home to play for Manhattan College and head coach Steve Masiello after having graduated from Mount Saint Michael's in Bronx last year.
The announcement was made in customary Woodstock fashion as he was surrounded by his teammates and published by Mike Yagmin on twitter.
Proud to announce the 6th D1 commit in @WAPrepHoop’s inaugural prospect class. Elijah Buchanan came to WA w/ a 6’11” wingy after being one of NYC’s most prolific scorers at Mount St Michael in The Bronx. He’ll head back to NYC as a member of @JaspersMBB ‘18 recruit class.... pic.twitter.com/YNrfJppaww

Buchanan is a 6-foot-4 wing with a high physical upside and a consistently blossoming skill set. He's a consistent shooting threat from the three-point line, a solid athlete, and extremely long with a 6-foot-11 wingspan. He's also a talented player on the defensive end with major potential on that side of the ball.
He's a late bloomer who picked up division I offers last spring before starring with the Firm on the Adidas Guantlet circuit but has definitely brought his game to new levels this season as he's adjusted to playing with, and against, other talented players.
He is the second local prep product to commit to the Jaspers, joining Vermont Academy big man Daniel Schreier who signed during November's early signing period.
Below are some of Buchanan's highlights from so far this season.
