BABC to Host 2014 Winter Classic

The Boston Amateur Basketball Club will host their annual Winter Classic this weekend, beginning with one game on Sunday at Chelsea High School and continuing Monday with five more contests at the Reggie Lewis Center.  In total six high level match-ups will feature ten of the MIAA’s top teams according to ESPN Boston.  

To start the action on the Sunday, first year head coach John Dullea will lead his #10 St. John’s Prep squad against Melrose and head coach Mike Kasprzak at 2pm at Chelsea High School.

Monday’s action will begin at 11am at the Reggie Lewis Center with head coach Kevin Barrett leading his #13 North Quincy squad with featured players Anthony Green and Efthim Butka against head coach Johnny Williams and his #22 Dorchester squad which possesses a plethora of athletic talent. At 12:30, Massachusetts legend John DiBiaso will lead his #4 Everett squad with guards Timmance McKinney and Ernie Chatman against University High School of Connecticut. 2:00pm will see head coach Lance Dottin lead his #14 Cambridge Rindge and Latin squad with guards Isaiah McLeod, Diandre Shoulder-Williams, and big man Fredens Deneus against Marcus Watson’s #13 St. Peter-Marian squad, with guards Makai Ashton-Langford and Greg Kuakumensah. At 3:30, head coach Bill Loughnane will lead his #15 BC High squad with seniors Steve Young and Phil Leotsakos against Mike Carr and his #3 Lynn English squad with seniors  Fred Hogan and Danny Lukanda. The final, and perhaps most anticipated match of the day will see head coach Rick Nault lead his #9 Central Catholic squad, led by Nick Cambio and Fairfield bound Tyler Nelson against Corey McCarthy and his #5 New Mission squad with Shaquan Murray and Franklin Pierce bound Asante Sandiford.
