The Hoop Mountain Prep Classic saved their best for last, both in terms of talent and excitement, as a loaded field led to an impressive turnout of college coaches. Connecticut’s Jim Calhoun, Providence’s Ed Cooley, Boston College’s Steve Donahue, and Iowa State’s Fred Hoiberg headlined the head coaches in attendance while assistants were also on hand from Florida, Georgetown, Oklahoma, and DePaul among others. Day three of the Hoop Mountain Prep Classic included seven games of action and college coaches from places like Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, and others. The action was fast and furious throughout the day with a number of players managing to distinguish themselves. There was a major buzz all day at the Marianapolis Prep gym as coaches from the ACC, Big East, SEC, A-10, Colonial Conference, America East, MAAC, Northeast Conference, and Patriot League were in attendance to watch Friday’s games. The action for the Hoop Mountain Prep Classic tipped off in Thompson, Connecticut on Thursday with teams representing seven different states and two countries in action. CJEOTO Blue (NJ) 58 v Mack Prep Academy (NC) 65 Quevyn Winters (Mack) dominated the glass early and often collecting 13 rebounds and adding an effortless 21 points for the game.
