Woodstock Academy and Riverside Hawks big man Promise Opurum announced his commitment to New Hampshire yesterday. Opurum attended New Rochelle High School in New York before deciding on taking a post-grad year at Woodstock. He came into his post-grad season with momentum as he was selected to the New York All-State Team in 2021. The 2021-22 season was one of growth and maturation for the Suffield Academy boys basketball team. Canterbury School guard TJ Holloway announced his commitment to Central Connecticut State University and first year head coach Patrick Sellers over the weekend. Holloway attended Greens Farms Academy before transferring to Canterbury in the fall of 2020 and reclassifying to 2022. He also spent time on the grassroots circuit with both Albany City Rocks and Connecticut Elite. Holloway made a significant impact in his first full season with the Saints this past winter. Putnam Science Academy point guard Arturo Dean announced his verbal commitment to Florida International on Monday afternoon, choosing FIU over a number of other D1 offers ranging as high as the Atlantic 10 Conference. Putnam Science Academy claimed the 2022 National Prep Championship on Friday by defeating Northfield Mount Hermon School in the finals at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut. The National Prep Championship is winding down and on Friday the 2022 national champions will be crowned. Semi-finals will be played at 11:00am with Putnam Science Academy meeting Scotland Campus and Northfield Mount Hermon facing Massanutten Military Academy. The NEPSAC crowned champions in all six classes on Sunday and while this year didn't provide central locations where all finals could be seen in order, the home court advantage did provide for some passionate atmospheres.
