If the New England presence was strong on day one of the Hoop Group’s Summer Classic, it was even stronger on day 2, as bracket play winded down and various programs made their championship runs. When it was all said and done, there were no championship trophies heading back to New England, but nevertheless, it was clear the region had left its mark on the event for the second straight year. The New England Recruiting Report was on the ground to bring firsthand recaps at Hoop Mountain Super Week II, Hoop Mountain Academic All-American Camp, Reebok Breakout Classic, Hoop Group Elite Camp, BasketBull Summer Championships, and the Stars of Tomorrow Camp this week. As action continued throughout Saturday and into Sunday morning here were more young players that caught our attention: Alex Preston – The 6’7” long and lengthy big man really impressed with his physical tools and skillset for a young player his size. He has good feet and soft hands that allow him to catch tough passes or gather rebounds for easy lay-ups around the rim. Maybe Preston’s best skill at this point though is his ability to run the floor.…

Following Saturday victories over The City - White from New York and the Demarcus Cousins Blue Devils…

The long drive to Reading, Pennsylvania proved to be well worth it for more than a couple of New England products this week, as they seized an opportunity to stand out in front of long lines of college coaches at session II of the Hoop Group Elite Camp. Of course, Malcolm Brent was the big story after landing his first division I scholarship offer from Ole Miss, but he certainly wasn’t the only product to stand out. His Metro Boston…
