The Southborough 6th grade Metrowest Division 1 team has started the season on a roll. Currently they are undefeated in league play – 5-0 and just participated in the Hoophall Classic this past weekend in Springfield coming up short to a strong regional team by 2 points in the semi finals. Southborough (overall 15-3) is ranked as the top team in Southeastern Massachusetts according to the Select Hoops poll (http://www.selecthoops.com/sh-power-rankings-6th-grade.html). While most teams stayed at home last weekend for a variety of top local events, St. Andrew’s School made the long trip to Abbotsford, Canada for the Abbotsford Collegiate Snowball Classic, a very prestigious tournament in Western Canada. The trip began last Wednesday when St. Andrew’s flew out to Seattle and then took a 55 passenger coach bus for a two and a half hour drive to Abbotsford, a city of approximately 170,000 people located one hour outside of Vancouver. …

Bangor high school’s six-foot-seven forward Patrick Stewart will be staying close to home for the next four years after making a verbal commitment to Colby College.
