It’s that time of year again as winter is gradually starting to wind down and spring is approaching that a still significant percentage of the senior class remains uncommitted. Many prospects come into that final year, especially if they’re post-grads, with a certain goal in mind. That goal is often tied to level, or at least perceived level of play. “I’m D1 player” “I’m a scholarship player” Recruiting though is about supply and demand and it’s the market that tells…

Shea High School senior guard Erickson Bans became the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League on Friday night as part of a 37-point effort. He broke the 21-year old record, set by Saint Raphael's Robert Griffin in 1999, on a pair of free-throws and received a standing ovation from the crowd at Pilgrim High School immediately afterward. Bans, who played on the EYBL with Expressions last spring and recently committed to Bryant, now has…

"The importance of a degree from the University of Minnesota and obviously the full scholarship [were factors too]." Minnesota Crookston is not…

Of all six New England states, Connecticut stands alone when it comes to the overall depth in the class. Our updated rankings include 50 prospects, all of whom are clear scholarship prospects, with even more prospects at that level falling beyond the top 50. With that many scholarship candidates in one state, ranking them is an inexact science to say the least, because when the degree of separation is so finite it really becomes a matter of perspective, especially for…

This may be Femi Odukale's first season in the New England prep ranks, but he's hardly a newcomer to the region after playing travel basketball with local teams in each of the last two grassroots seasons, and to say he's brought his game to new levels since arriving at Springfield Commonwealth would be an understatement to say the least. Odukale graduated from South Shore High School in Brooklyn last year where he had steady mid-major recruitment. This year, and in recent…

The Winchendon School has been revitalized this year under second year head coach Kevin Kehoe, not just returning to class AA of the NEPSAC and winning games but also producing scholarship talent. The most recent examples came this week when a pair of post-graduates accepted full athletic scholarships. First was Sam Towns, a 6-foot-9 forward from Ohio who had become the team's most recruited prospect this year, accumulating numerous division I offers. With his choice of destinations, Towns elected to…

It should come as no surprise that the best 2020 prospects currently playing in the state of Vermont are currently at the state's only premier prep program. While the local products inside the VPA have risen their profile in recent months, and expanded our rankings because of it, the top scholarship prospects still lay along Long Walk Trail in Saxtons River. CJ Jones is an elite shooter of the basketball and looks like a steal for Boston University after pushing…
