New Rankings Released

We have taken the class of 2007 officially off the board and moved the class of 2008 into the senior spot.  You will also notice that we have updated quite a few player profiles to reflect changes in school and/or graduation year.  This process will continue for the next month or so as we learn of more changes.

Some of the biggest changes have occurred in the class of 2009 where the UConn bound duo of Alex Oriakhi and Jamal Coombs have moved to Tilton, Givon Crump has jumped to Brewster Academy, and Mike Marra has reclassified at Northfield Mount Hermon.

Troy Gillenwater returns to the region in the class of 2008 where he is currently ranked number 3.  However, that could all change if Nate Miles doesn’t return to Notre Dame Prep as expected after the departure of long time head coach Bill Barton.  Thomas Manzano, Darius Gabriel, and Kevin Menner are in similar situations as it remains to be seen if they will play out their prep careers at Notre Dame.

Although we have tried to identify all of the local players who will be attending prep school in the fall, these rankings do not yet take into account players who will be moving into the area come September to do the same.  After we do our customary tour of the NEPSAC’s finest in September we will release a new set of rankings to reflect what are sure to be a variety of new faces.  Additionally, as the year goes on we will continue to expand the number of players ranked in an effort to include as many quality prospects as possible by season’s end.

As always please keep in mind that these rankings are only the opinions of the New England Recruiting Report staff and are not intended to be definitive in any way, shape, or form.  Ranking players is a very inexact science and is done solely for the enjoyment of our readers.  In fact we hope to hear your viewpoints and encourage anyone interested to post there thoughts, opinions, or even there own set of rankings in our forum.
