On Tuesday night, longtime Windsor High School head coach and reigning state champion Ken Smith secured his 700th career victory with a CCC tournament win over East Hartford. With the milestone, Smith joins an exclusive club alongside current Crosby head coach Nick Augelli (762 wins) and the late Vito Montelli of St. Joseph’s in Trumbull (878 wins) as one of only three coaches in Connecticut history to reach 700 wins. Over the years, Smith has been a pivotal figure in Connecticut high… READ MORE >

Just the other day Worcester Academy and the BABC big man Ryan Sullivan announced his commitment to Harvard University. The Auburn native has spent a long time with the Worcester Academy Hilltoppers, winning two straight NEPSAC AA titles with the program in 2022 and 2023. Those respective teams were chalk full of scholarship level talent as Tre Norman (Marquette), TJ Power (Duke/UVA) and Kayvaun Mulready (Georgetown) served as the stars. Sullivan has been a notable name in his class for a while… READ MORE >

This freshman class has a lot of standouts throughout all of New England. Here are a few from the 2028 class in the public school landscape.  First on the list is a strong guard out of Bedford, NH, Wiji Dak. He has got a knack for finishing through contact and does it very well. He will wait for contact to come in the post before going up, often resulting in an and one.  Dak also has a tough mid range jumpshot. He… READ MORE >

The junior class has built up some well earned buzz in the New England ranks. While there are a number of national prospects, and guys with multiple scholarship offers playing at the prep level, I wanted to take some time to highlight some players who have stood out for their local high school this season. Settling on just twelve names is definitely a hard task, and there's a ton more names to know throughout New England in the junior class. Here's… READ MORE >

In the spirit of the Super Bowl taking place last night, we wanted to take a look at some of the top “quarterbacks” on the court. You may be asking, what does this have to do with basketball? Well, oftentimes in basketball, the point guard is considered the quarterback as they run the offense and are in charge of making sure things are running smoothly. Here’s some guys who have taken the reins of their respective teams this year, and factored… READ MORE >

Key Takeaways from the NEBL’s Second Session

This past Saturday, I spent the day at CATS Academy watching four high-level NEBL matchups—here are my key takeaways from each game. The first game between the hosts, CATS Academy and Newman National, set the pace for the day. It was close the entire game, but down the stretch, CATS hit big shots to help propel them to a 73-61 victory. Jaxson Terry had an efficient performance, ending the game with 25 points, going 8-12 from the field, including 6-8 from… READ MORE >

Some Unsigned 2025’s in the Prep Ranks

Posted Thursday, February 6th, 2025

With the prep basketball season in full swing, it’s time to take a look at a handful of some of the most talented, unsigned 2025 players across New England, including both seniors and postgraduates.  Greg Brooks III 5’11 Guard, Northfield Mount Hermon: Brooks is a shifty guard who can shoot from long-range and farther. His speed paired with his ball handling abilities make him hard to cover in space, and he is comfortable knocking down stepback and off the dribble jumpers.… READ MORE >
