A product of Redemption Christian Academy, a school that was transitioning their campus from Troy, New York to Northfield, Massachusetts, Delgado and his teammates literally split time between the two campuses last year. When he did play in New England, he showed signs of what many have come to know this spring and summer, that he is one of the top big men, and specifically one of…

The third and final part of our Summer Superlatives series focuses on New England’s toughest competitors during the month of July. Toughness can manifest itself in any number of ways. In fact, ESPN’s Jay Bilas just wrote an entire book on it. Probably the most common meaning relates to the level of physicality a player is willing to show during the course of a game. It can also reflect a player’s “motor” or the consistency with which they are able…

Last September, incoming postgraduate Chester Victor arrived on the Tilton School campus as an unknown in New England. It didn’t take long, however, for the slender and athletic 6-foot-1 guard from LaPlace, Louisiana to prove himself a reliable offensive threat – capable of knocking down big shots in clutch moments – alongside Wayne Selden. Over 29 games, he compiled averages of 17 points, three assists and three rebounds per game. He also developed a reputation as a solid perimeter defender…

There simply aren’t many guys who are automatic when left unchecked around the arc, capable of stopping quick in transition, or running their man off screens. While shooters themselves are becoming harder…
