The Cushing Academy basketball program has a long and storied history that has now extended into three different decades with three different head coaches and produced multiple championships and numerous college players along the way. While the success has been a constant, each coach always had their own unique approach, vision, and philosophy. James Cormier is a former college player and D1 assistant who had literally grown up around the game as his father was both a longtime D1 head…

Updated rankings have been long overdue to say the least. However, we’ve never ranked on reputation alone, and so it didn’t seem right to update rankings until we had a chance to get back on the road. While the Be Seen Tour has had us back on the road since late July, we still haven’t been able to check on everyone just yet, and certainly haven’t seen all the new faces to the region. So, instead of a full-fledged re-ranking…

The 2019-20 season was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the New Hampton School. Andrew Gale was a first-year head coach, just 26 years old and inheriting a roster that was, at least on paper, not as talented as many of the Husky teams we’ve seen over the years. Two months into the season and things were going about as expected. New Hampton was 8-8. They were battling, but just a little under-manned under the brightest of lights. Even…

What is there left to say about Brewster Academy? From National Championships to NBA players and virtually all measurable criteria in between, they’ve set the standard in prep school basketball. When you walk into the Smith Center (which ironically is not named after head coach Jason Smith…yet), the wall of alums who have gone on to play in the NBA is one of the most impressive spectacles you’ll find anywhere in the country. Donovan Mitchell, Will Barton, T.J. Warren, and…

Monument High School freshman Khalil Carlson is an intriguing long-term prospect to watch and the latest to be featured in the #E75 Frosh/Soph Virtual Showcase. As a 6-foot-3 14-year-old, Carlson has often been the biggest player on the floor thus far in his basketball development, but he's had the good fortune to be developed at multiple positions. He's equally well-versed off the floor as he plays the trombone in the school band and has become active in 'Talk About It' an…

Yesterday, we profiled the AAVBC, a relatively new program located in the valley of Connecticut, dedicated to giving players in that area of the state opportunities for exposure and development. They may not be the biggest or most well-known program, but they're doing it for all the right reasons and have players on their way to earning a spot at the next level including the likes of Isaiah Sullivan, Taeshaun Sanchez, Daniel Wellington, James Cook IV, and others. Below…
