Becil Commits to Bentley
Worcester Academyand guard Dan Becil, who starred for The House We Built this summer, announced his commitment to Bentley University on Sunday.
Becil is a New York native who has spent the last three years at Worcester, taking his game to new levels with each passing season.
"Dan is a self-made student-athlete who has worked for everything he has," said Worcester Academy assistant coach Dan Sullivan. "He transformed his body during the pandemic and improved each season since his arrival at Worcester Academy. He earned the green-light for us this year because of the work he's put in over the years."
This year, Becil played an integral role in Worcester Academy winning the NEPSAC Class AA Championship. He averaged 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals while shooting 44% from the field, 38% from three, and 83% from the free-throw line. He also led the team in charges taken.
"Dan saved his best performances for when the lights were brightest. He had 34 verus Blair in the National Prep Showcase, 29 versus Bradford Christian in the Blackburn Tournament final, and arguably the biggest shot in recent Worcester Academy basketball history in the AA championship."
That shot, the game-winning three-pointer, came with just seconds remaining on the clock to give the Hilltoppers the NEPSAC championship in front of their home crowd.
