Unsigned Senior Spotlight - Leon Williams

Leon Williams was one of the best players in the MIAA this year and maybe the most versatile.

He stuffed all columns of the stat sheet on a nightly basis, regularly flirting with triple-doubles. In the process he led Cambrige to their latest big season including a DCL championship in which he went for 25 points and 10 rebounds in the process.

While he is open to the idea of a post-grad year, he remains open to all options as a member of the 2020 class, where he remains under-the-radar.

Personal Statement

I'm always ready to go hard and put in the work that other are not willing to do, to lead by example, and be a great teammate.

Recommendations

"Leon is a tremendous on ball defender, using his quickness, instincts, and length to bother opposing guards. Leon is a natural leader and one of the hardest working players in the Cambridge Rindge and Latin Basketball Program. Off the court he is a Great Student and a Amazing Person that will make any school/basketball program happy to have him."
- Geo Rodriguez, Head Coach, Cambridge Rindge & Latin

"I have had the pleasure of knowing Leon since he was a "little guy" in grade school and have watched him grow and work to become a very, very good player, with a lot of upside still. His combination of skill, size, and athleticism make Leon is a legitimate division 1 combo-guard. He handles and makes great decisions as a primary ball-handler, shoots the mid-range & 3 consistently, and his length and strength enable him to defend opposing 1's, 2's, and 3's very well. Combine his on-court attributes with his high character and academic success, and Leon is a cant-miss prospect at the next level. Under-the-radar due in large part to a late growth spurt, Leon has a very high ceiling as he is the type of young man who will likely improve not only over a post grad year, but each year in college as well."
- Doug Alves, Head Coach, Team New England 17s

Scouting Report

Williams is a swiss-army knife who plays multiple positions, impacts the game on both ends of the floor, and is a high-level athlete. First and foremost, he changes the game on both ends. He's a high-level defensive player who can guard one-through-three. Offensively, he's a big playmaker who may be best known for his explosive drives and finishes but has shown equally impressive signs of floor vision, passing ability, and a finishing package. Overall, you should don't find many players who can match his combination of perimeter size, athleticism, versatility, defensive prowess, and playmaking ability.
