Yale Wins the Wolf
Good things come to those who wait.
And wait Yale did. The Bulldogs recruited Northfield Mount Hermon forward Danny Wolf for over a year, outlasting not only other Ivy League programs but also multiple high-majors who came into the picture last summer.
Late last week, their perseverence was rewarded with a commitment from the skilled 6-foot-10 forward.
Wolf came to NMH from Illinois shortly into the 2020-21 academic year. During that pandemic plagued season he honed his skill-set, developed his body, and took his game to new levels that allowed his recruitment to go to the high-major level with offers from both ACC and Big Ten schools following a summer with Mac Irvin Fire on the EYBL.
Unfortunately, Wolf's senior season was an injury-plagued one, with multiple issues keeping him out of the line-up and less than 100% throughout the entire year. He contemplated returning for a post-grad year before NMH head coach John Carroll announced he was departing the school and so now, he gives Yale the type of high-major talent necessary to continue their string of recent success.
Wolf is a playmaking big man who is an exceptional ball-handler and passer for his size as well as a consistent shooting threat from behind the three-point line.
He is the 8th member of NMH's 2022 class to commit to a division I school and 3rd to an Ivy League school.
