Unsigned Senior Spotlight - Jadon Archer

Jadon Archer has proven himself at every step in his basketball journey.

He put up huge numbers for three seasons at Enfield High School before joining the prep ranks last year at MacDuffie, where he was a starting guard for one of the top teams in Class AA.

In the last twelve months, he's taken that process to even more extremes. From a strong showing in the NEPSAC Showcases in June to the fall grassroots season with Rhode Island Elite to another big showing at the NERR Mass Open Gym and then a big final season in the prep ranks at Master's, he's stood out at each and every stop.

In the process, Archer has earned scholarship offers, but with the perfect fit not yet presenting itself, he remains open in the class of 2020 and one of the best guards left on the board in New England.

Personal Statement

I love to compete and win.  I will do whatever tasks my coaches ask of me, such as defending the other team’s best player, rebounding or getting my teammates the ball in scoring positions.  I feel like I am a leader for the team and make others around me better as well.  I enjoy staying in the gym working on my game.  I watch film to learn what I can do better on the court and learn more about the game.

Recommendations

"For us, another very good kid off the court. his ability to put the ball in the hole is good. get to the free-throw line. he can shoot the ball from all three levels. but what he did that was more surprising for me was he could rebound and go, rebound and go."
- Tobias Ceasar, Head Coach, Master's School

"Jadon is a great player and even better person, a low-maintenance guy who works hard and can help contribute to winning at the highest levels. He's well-known for his ability to get to the rim and create for himself or others but he is also the best rebounding guard I've ever coached. He snatches the ball out of the air with big hands and athleticism and is a high-level rebounder. As his jump shot continues to get more consistent I think he will be an absolute steal for any scholarship level program."
- Nick Light, Director, Rhode Island Elite

Scouting Report

"Jadon has an extremely well-rounded game. Everybody at this stage can keep improving across the board, and he's no different, but when you watch him play there really aren't any glaring weaknesses that are immediately noticeable. He can score in bunches and at different levels, play on or off the ball, defend his position, and really rebound the ball. I've always thought he was a better shooter than advertised and also believe that he really learned to let the game come to him within the last year while simultaneously developing his body. He's someone I've rated as a scholarship player all year."
