Stu Jackson joins the Upside Podcast
The Big East's senior associate commissioner for men's basketball, Stu Jackson, is the latest guest of the Upside Podcast.
Prior to joining the Big East, Jackson was the Executive Vice-President of Basketball Operations for the NBA and that position came after two decades of working in both the NBA and college basketball. A former player at Oregon and Seattle, Jackson was an early star in the coaching business resulting in a spot as Rick Pitino's top assistant at Providence College and then being named the head coach of the New York Knicks when he was just 33 years old.
He would return to the college game to take over the program at Wisconsin before being selected to lead the start-up known as the Vancouver Grizzlies, one of two NBA expansion teams north of the border. Jackson would lead that front office for six years before moving into the league office and heading up their basketball operations department.
In this wide ranging discussion, Jackson shares insights and perspective that can only be developed after decades of incredibly diverse experiences at the very highest levels of the basketball business.
