Rhode Island 2024 Rankings

After the conclusion of the spring/summer grassroots season last weekend, we thought it was time to start putting out state by state rankings for the class of 2024 ultimately ending with New England.

As always, these rankings are updated throughout the season as we get more eyes on players around the region.

They also do not yet include players in the class who have just transferred in from other parts of the country.

Here’s a first look at the top five players in the state of Rhode Island’s class of 2024 rankings

Coming in at the top is the St. George’s tandem of Anthony Daley and Alex Berry

Daley, a sharp shooting guard who is known to change games with his shooting prowess and high motor guarding the ball on defense comes in at number one. He has had many strong scoring performances from long range including outings with over 20 made three-pointers.

Berry is a well-rounded athlete who can maneuver his way through a defense to finish powerfully above the rim, or make the right read as a playmaker to find an open teammate. He just recently won the Under Armour Next circuit title with the Middlesex Magic.

At third is Barrington High School’s Matt Raffa. Raffa is a two-time all-state guard who led his team to the Elite Eight of the RIIL playoffs this past March. The crafty point guard can create good looks at shots for himself and others, and looks to continue to build on his strong high school career this upcoming season.

St. Andrew’s point guard Anthony DeThomas is next up in the ranking. DeThomas is a traditional point guard capable of captaining an offense. He displayed his improvement on the court this summer as a scoring threat and will have this upcoming season to grow his name even more.

Rounding out the first round of ranking is Azariah Harrison out of Classical High School in Providence. Azzy was named all-state this past season for his play as he led his team to the sweet sixteen of the RIIL playoffs. The guard plays with a good feel for the game and gets to his spots to knock down shots.

Stay tuned as we continue to release our 2024 rankings in the next week.
