Northeastern Lands Telfort

Northeastern landed an important late pledge this week when New Hampton School post-graduate Jahmyl Telfort made his verbal commitment.

Telfort is a Canadian native who arrived in New England this fall and played a huge role in the Huskies NEPSAC AAA championship.

He averaged 14 points and nearly 7 rebounds and 3 assists per game while proving to be one of the most versatile forwards in all of prep school basketball.

"Jahmyl is a great leader and teammate. He puts winning above everything else," said NHS head coach Andrew Gale. "He is going to be a perfect fit at Northeastern because of his versatility. He is a swiss army knife player. He can guard multiple positions, play in the post or on the perimeter on offense. He is going to fit nicely next to New Hampto alum Tyson Walker."

Telfort, who announced his commitment via his twitter handle, is a combo-forward who should be capable of seeing immediate minutes in the CAA next season.
