Live Period Tips Tonight
The NCAA recruiting period tips tonight at 6pm, giving college coaches one of their two chances this spring to attend grassroots style team events. For teams in New England that means trips to places like Dallas, Washington D.C., and Pittsburgh.
Both the Nike EYBL and Under Armour Association will be holding their opening session in Dallas, Texas this weekend and so that means that Expressions Elite, BABC, and NE6 will all be in attendance.
Adidas is operating a regional model in the opening weekend before coming together next week in Atlanta. The four regional host cities will be Dallas, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and Washington D.C. The Mass Rivals and Team New England are among the 14 teams from the Gauntlet Gold circuit to be in action in the nation's capitol while the silver division includes the Beantown Bulls and Mass Rivals Select.
The Hoop Group will host the vast majority of the top, non-sneaker, teams from the greater northeast region at their annual Pittsburgh Jam Fest this weekend. Their Hoop Group Showcase League includes the DC Blue Devils, Metro Boston, Middlesex Magic, and WrightWay Skills who will all play a showcase game on Friday night while receiving a double-bye in the normal tournament field. Northeast Elite, Rhode Island Elite, Mass Elite, and Boston Bobcats will also compete in the 17u Elite Division. Stamford Peace, Central Mass Swarm, New Haven Heat, and Rhode Island Magic will also have 17u teams in action.
BasketBull will be hosting their Hall of Fame New England Championships in Hanover this weekend as well with PTT, Next Level Athletics, Boston Warriors, Evolution, and Blue Wave among the teams that are scheduled to compete in the 11th grade division.
