Howard Has D1 Scholarship
There were few bigger unsung heroes in prep school basketball this year than St. Thomas More post-grad Ky Howard.
The six-foot-three jack of all trades played four different positions through the course of the season and literally did a little bit of everything for St. Thomas More.
Howard earned honorable mention all New England nods for his efforts, but was arguably still relatively underappreciated by those outside the STM program given the depth and extent of his contributions.
On Wednesday, he was rewarded for all of his hard work by accepting a full scholarship offer from division I New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Howard will offer NJIT the same versatility which proved to be his calling card this year as he’ll be able to adapt to the team’s personnel and style of play while contributing with his defense, rebounding, passing and high basketball intellect.
Howard becomes the sixth member of this year’s St. Thomas More team to earn a full scholarship joining Curtis Jones (Manhattan), A.J. English (Iona), Stuart McEwn (Old Dominion at midyear), Rodney Sanders (Southern New Hampshire) and Barrington Stephens (South Alabama).
He is also the second New England prep product to commit to NJIT in their 2012 recruiting class as he joins Marianapolis Prep guard Nigel Sydnor.
